| The basis of the design is to use an all-round outline shape with a little more foot area than a freestyle or wave sail, this sets the power lower down and thus is easier to control. The slight increase in head twist allows the Excess to exhaust efficiently, remaining stable even when driven at high speeds with full power. With the moderate degree of shaping positioned low and well forwards the power remains effortless and light on the back hand. |

| Rather strikingly the Excess uses Spectra X-Ply construction throughout to make it not only tough but also much more forgiving in feel despite having plenty of shape. It is possible to keep up with more specific freeride designs whilst the softness makes it easier to handle and control, perfect for when sailing in the more extreme end of the sails range and rougher water states. |
