The design uses a fast profile with a fairly stiff flex, yet this and some tip twist allows the fin to achieve high speeds whilst remaining in control. The swept shape allows the board to ride over choppy water and further enhances manoeuvrability. When compared to our other freeride fins, the SX won't plane as effortlessly as the Ride, nor is it as forgiving to use as the S-Ride, but it is faster and a great alternative to those designs. If you have good technique and are sailing performance boards that truly have excellent speed potential but are also fun to use for more than just speed blasting, the SX is a terrific choice.
