Well, finally got the board out in Cornwall and I honestly can't believe how good it actually is. Here's a run down of my findings:
Cross on jumping in small swell - 9/10.
Cross on jumping in logo high waves - 9/10.
Getting planing in fluky wind - 8/10.
Staying planing in lulls - 9/10.
Getting planing after stalled jumps - 9/10.
Giving confidence to try back loops - 11/10
Cross on backside smacks in the whitewater - 10/10.
Cross off down the line in small stuff - 10/10.
Cross off down the line in big stuff - 9/10.
Control when super overpowered - 8/10.
Giving confidence to try forwards - 0/10 still !!!
It gives a little away against my radical wave 70 in carving on the wave face (you need a little more commitment) and when super overpowered but it's only a tiny bit and that's more than made up for by how much better it is at getting going, riding the small stuff and it's absolute speciality of keeping going in the whitewater. Where normally you'd finish the ride and use the whitewater to push you upwind, this board encourages you to put in another 2 or 3 turns in the crumbling froth - it's just too much fun to be legal.
