Riks Channel Island Customers - Top The 2006 Speed Rankings This article was just sent into us from the guys and gals on Guernsey. Speed has really shown a resurgence of interest all over the place of late and this, the second largest Channel Island, is no exception. One of our long standing loyal customers, Stuart Martel, made it to the top of the rankings in 2006. He managed a top speed of 31.6kts set at Lady's Bay back in April 2006 using a JP Super X 106 '06 & NP V6 7.0m sail. Guernsey can produce some fairly rough conditions so beating 30kts in less than ideal water is very good. Runners up were Dan Harradine and Stuart Briggs, also both Riks customers. Also a resident of Guernsey is Martyn Ogier, a name that many will be aware of for various speed exploits through the 90's. Martyn's top speed, set elsewhere back in 1995, is 42.09kts, so that's some target to beat. Well done to you all and let's see who clocks the fastest speed this year!
