January 2011: JP Australia Slalom VII 2011 Boards - Available Now!
After a short delay (although there was no rush given how cold the weather has been!!) the initial delivery of the new Slalom boards has arrived from the factory so we are all super excited about getting them on the water and testing out the performance improvements!
As in 2010 the range continues to consist of six shapes named primarily by their widths (the key attribute of such performance oriented boards). Each model has been optimised in terms of speed and control specific to the conditions that each will most likely encounter. The smallest pair of boards (the 56 & 59) therefore use a fairly traditional double concave slalom underhull for control whereas the larger boards (76 & 82) are much flatter for maximum lift. The two mid sized boards (65 & 68) use a blend of the two designs for unbeatable performance.
Although the graphics have intentionally only been tweaked Werner has made some fairly major shaping upgrades to ensure the JP Team have the best chance of retaining the World Tour Slalom title in 2011. Attention has been given to the deck profiles, the outline and standing position, and the rail shaping has also been adjusted.
If you're tooling yourself-up with a set of boards to cover all conditions for the coming season then simply select three boards from the range of six. Lighter and average weight users should opt for the 56-65-76 models and larger riders will benefit from the extra support offered by the 59-68-82 designs. Be clear however (there has been some confusion about this) that all of the boards are fully compatible with riders of all builds so if you have a specific combination in mind for a given wind strength then don't feel tied to the 'board set' guidance. As an example a light weight would be happy on the 68 and likewise a heavier user would also love the 65...
Full product details are available on our website here and as normal feel free to get in contact with us should you require any more specific advice about what you should be opting for this season.

A few boards in each size have come into stock and we are currently shipping initial pre-orders. One further delivery is due to us at the end of February so if you're not planning to get in on the action right away do still get in touch soon.
Last year the Slalom boards sold out in some sizes much earlier than we had anticipated, and we actually sold all stocks by the end of Oct hence why there's no specials available now!
