March 2013: Riks GPS Support Page Updated!   The GT-31 GPS is firmly established the world over as being the favoured device for speedsailing . Being compact and highly accurate, yet also low cost, makes it ideal for all windsurfers regardless of whether it is being used to log record breaking sessions, or just for cruising around tracking runs at your local spot. We have certainly found that many users do initially struggle with the set-up and how to handle the data thereafter. Our online support section has always been there to assist, but it was high time for an update! So Rik has put together a series of new films that can be viewed on the support page.   New Waterproof Case Solution   Keeping the GPS fully waterproof has always been an issue as when windsurfing the device usually goes through a fair amount of rough & tumble, as well as having to deal with a wide variety of conditions. Many of the classic waterproof cases available are either far too large for the GT-31 or simply not durable enough. In addition to the popular neoprene arm pouch with re-sealable bags (here), we have also now introduced a similarly straightforward solution that has been tested over a few months; this utilises one of the Aquapac phone cases that fits neatly into their neoprene arm pouch. The product is now online (here) and be sure to watch the film for tips on slipping the device in and out of the firm fitting case, and methods of deployment.   Firmware & Settings Update   If you've owned your GT-31 for some time then it is likely the firmware is now out of date. The latest firmware makes the device respond faster and in a more stable manner, as well as offering some great new features. Be sure to watch the film relating to the update procedure and to confirm that your settings are correct. The usage tips film also goes through how you should set the display and an easy method of reviewing your best runs without having to take the data to a computer for processing.   Data Processing & Analysis   Despite having no direct involvement with the GPS Results software or GPS Speedsurfing site (other than posting sessions to it) I frequently get asked about how to get the data from the GPS and up onto the website, as well as how to create the cool prints of the session tracks.
